Job Description Junior Equity Trader-121689 Description: The Scientific Active Equity (SAE) team has a major presence in San Francisco, New York, London, Tokyo and Sydney and manages more than $100B.

The SAE team is focused on stock-selection strategies using fundamental insights captured in a scientific and rigorous process. Our clients include corporate pension plans, public pension plans, central banks, sovereign wealth funds and other institutional investors. Scientific Equities Trading located in San Francisco manages all orders and execution responsibilities for the Institutional Index, Exchange Traded Funds, Transition Management, and Scientific Active Strategies.

The current opening is specific to US Index Equities and ETF’s.

Key job responsibilities: Trade and analyze orders at all stages of execution with the goal of managing transaction costs and controlling risk Formulate trading strategies considering the implications of various trading avenues, market mechanisms, and the trade-off between risk and cost Help develop trading infrastructure and process Work with strategy groups and research to implement and systematize all trading strategies in response to market opportunities Research Trading exceptions (pricing, settlement, etc.) Prepare internal reports/presentations for internal client meetings

Experience/Skills required: BA/BS or higher degree in a quantitative or business discipline 1-3 years trading experience with trading multiple asset classes derivatives and physical equities BA/BS or higher degree in a quantitative or business discipline Self-starter and ambitious, Strong multi-tasking ability Analytical and quantitative in nature Logical and creative approach to solving complex problems Team player and effective communicator Evidence of ability provide superior service to both internal and external clients Proven relevant experience in a trading or trading related role 

Exposure to and knowledge of US equity markets preferred Well-developed communication and presentation skills to enable effective interaction with the global trading group, internal clients and trading counterparties Superior IT skills and exposure to a variety of trading systems/platforms. Practical experience and/or knowledge of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) Knowledge of Algorithmic trading strategies, appropriate uses, pitfalls Thrives in a high-pressure environment Willingness and drive to learn about and trade new asset classes
