Index Arbitrage / Delta One Trader

A leading global investment banking, securities, and investment management firm seeks an Index Arbitrage or other Delta One Trader for London.

The role is in Prime Brokerage; a Trader within the financing function. The role reports up to the Global Head of Prime Brokerage Risk and Trading.
The Trading role has the following core functions:
  • Owns the global financing book for Prime Brokerage

  • Manages FX /Basis risk of the PB business

  • Owns the liquidity risk (policy and absolute risk) of the PB business

  • Own balance sheet for PB

  • The primary focus of the role will be:
    • Trading financing structures with the use of listed dervis, OTC derivs and SL relationships (all delta 1 products)

    • Trading reinvestment opportunities for excess liquidity in the PB business (using all Delta 1 products as above)

    • Trading opportunities arising from arbs across the various delta 1 products/desk – JV with SL, financing, Delta 1/SPG
The ideal candidate will be:
  • a creative trader with approximately 5 years experience;

  • experienced in the above primary focus areas of trading;

  • experienced in the Delta 1 (Index Arb, repo arb) space, but the role will likely be more origination than actual execution; and

  • self starting and opportunistic, generating Alpha from significant cash, inventory, currency and balance sheet at the traders disposal.
