Smith & Associates, a US based, private company was founded in 1984.  Over the past 28 years we have grown to be one of the top Independent Distributors of electronic components and computer peripherals in the world.  We have expanded our Houston, TX roots to many countries around the globe and currently have 13 offices with plans for continued growth.
Business Development is a growing department within our structure and we have a rare opportunity for someone with past sales and business development success to join our team.  In this position, you will be working alongside our traders lending support to the trading cycle by helping further forge business relationships with customers through customer visits, supplying information on our different services we offer as well as contract negotiation.
  • Develop sales strategies to ensure achievement of sales targets, by understanding market requirements, company objectives, and service solution capabilities
  • Work with sales team to approach and identify client needs and present the solution
  • Develop and manage a qualified pipeline of targeted opportunities on a continual basis through networking and keeping abreast of the market
  • Manage and build strong relationships with customers, gaining a thorough understanding of their requirements and long term goals, informing customers of new developments related to our services and solutions
  • Develop relationships with OEM’s, CEM’s, ODM’s & Distributors
  • Perform presentations to customers and potential customer’s that are custom designed and geared toward their particular needs
  • Excellent communicative, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Adept at getting the attention and involvement of the most sophisticated and difficult audiences
  • Outstanding telephone sales skills. Exceptional ability to generate leads by prospecting and cold calling will be an integral part of your day in this position
  • Successful track record working with sales organizations to achieve and exceed their sales goals
  • Inspires others with drive and motivation to sell aggressively
  • Initiative & self-motivated - excellent multi-tasking skills placing and performs a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction
  • Proven track record in identifying opportunities and a building pipeline
  • Projects a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust
  • Strong knowledge of the high tech manufacturing industry with direct industry experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel
