JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines.
2. Manage Private Banking and Commercial relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommend structure as well as aggressively managing the client relationship.
3. Partner with the Relationship Manager as the point of a contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the department, the assistants and other internal business partners.
4. Provide financial advice and counsel to clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends.
5. Monitor loan repayment activities and financial condition of borrowing clients and take necessary action to collect past due accounts and ongoing repayment ability of all other accounts. Assumes overall responsibility for the credit quality of the loan portfolio.
6. Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank’s Loan Approval Process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits.
7. Manage the renewal process by working with the Relationship Manager the client and the credit department.
8. Will prepare credit presenations both for existing and prospective borrowers to assist in the underwriting process. Determine the borrowers’ repayment ability as well as the Bank’s collateral position. Suggest an asset quality rating based on relationship review. Compile an accurate relationship profitability analysis as directed by corporate policy.
9. Responsible for identifying cross sales opportunities of all bank services, especially non-borrowing services; Capital Market (SWAP) enhancements; P&C, Life and Group Health Insurance; Treasury Management; International Banking; Commercial Banking; Trust; Retirement Plan Services to our existing client base as well as prospects.
10. Prepare the monthly asset quality reporting in addition to the review of new commercial loans to ensure the proper loan documents are in place, in compliance with governing laws and regulations and loan policy. Oversee and coordinate quarterly Criticized asset review meetings with an assigned region.
11. Prepare Private Banking performance relative to portfolio administration through the use of various monthly and quarterly reports such as past due loans, maturing loans, annual reviews, documentation exceptions, etc. Report results to Private Banking Underwriting Review Manager.
12. Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank within the region’s marketplace.
13. Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws.
Requirements

Portfolio Manager level I: 3-5 years Private Banking or Commercial Banking experience.
Solid credit skills

Experience in sales and presentations

Thorough understanding of risks (market, rate, leverage, etc) as it applies to the lending process. Possess good marketing and presentation skills. Ability to review and analyze financial data in detail and draw logical conclusions. Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, ratio analysis and variance and sensitivity analysis. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal bank staff and external clients, prospects and other professionals. Ability to represent the organization in a professional and positive manner. Loan authority per the Policy. Travel Occasional travel.
