We are currently seeking a talented Executive Director Equity Portfolios for our San Antonio, TX facility.
PURPOSE OF JOB
  • The USAA Precious Metals and Minerals Fund is one of the leading mutual funds in the precious metals universe. The fund is the top performing fund in its category over the five and ten year periods ending 10/31/11 and currently has over $2 billion in assets under management. The Fund employs a disciplined and systematic process to evaluate companies on a fundamental basis. 
    JOB DUTIES
    • The Executive Director Equity Portfolios will work closely with the Portfolio Manager in managing the mutual fund.
    • This position will share the responsibility of updating earnings models on a quarterly or as needed basis, monitoring the performance of current holdings as well as prospective companies and conducting onsite visits to mining operations.
    • The Executive Director Equity Portfolios will be in the position to share in the decision making process and directly impact the performance of the portfolio.
    • Foreign travel will be required.

    Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in the mining industry.
  • 5+ years business experience.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent job related experience.
  • Technical training in the mining industry.
  • Fundamental understanding of the workings of a mining operation.
  • General acumen understanding financial statements that relate to a business portfolio.
  • Self sufficient and able to operate in a flat portfolio management team structure. 
    Preferred
    • MBA or related finance degree.
    • Investment analysis experience.
    • CFA designation.
    • Knowledge of MS office products, (Excel, Powerpoint).
