Department  Investment Management 

Senior International Trader (Chicago, IL) - Responsible for the following: trade Pan Asia and Emerging Market securities in local markets as authorized by portfolio managers during live market hours; assist with launching a China ‘A’ share product; trade Chinese market securities in local markets; prepare for earnings releases; review external trading commentary and develop media sources for updating market conditions; provide portfolio managers with ongoing information about market sentiment, trading environment, trading volume, and price volatility; developing and maintaining relationships with internal portfolio managers and external securities dealers; monitor the effectiveness of brokerage institutions on an on-going basis; focus on execution, market impact and cost; assist in the budgeting and allocation of commissions; work within designated brokerage framework; evaluate the quality of current and evolving industry technology to identify tools to be used in the pursuit of best execution and operational efficiencies in the trade allocation and settlement process; maintain a strong understanding of all company policies and adopting best practices to insure compliance; remain up-to-date on regulatory and industry issues and changes in market structure, as well as country specific rules and procedures; and participate in other projects as requested by management.
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Trader or in a related occupation. OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, will accept any combination of education, training or experience deemed equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience in: working with Pan Asian and Emerging Market securities, with a particular understanding of Mainland China; using trading technology systems from front-end (OMS/EMS) to back-end settlement and TCA; equity securities and their markets; trading characteristics and approaches; the factors influencing price trends, and equity security exchanges; and with currencies and derivatives.
