National company seeks a Derivatives Trading Assistant in Central New Jersey.

Junior Associate
The Derivatives Product Group is a part of the Treasurer's Department.  They are responsible for developing derivative based solutions for the company and its subsidiaries that mitigate financial and market risks that can cause undesirable financial volatility.  Within that mandate, the group:

  • Serves as an enterprise wide advisor and clearing house for all over the counter derivatives, including global interest rate, equity index and foreign exchange transactions
  • Provides derivative based solutions in the creation of new or improved product offerings in the financial services market
  • Acts as a day to day risk manager for enterprise wide foreign exchange exposures
  • Develops and implements derivative based solutions for the enterprise's capital protection program
The candidate that is selected will work on the derivatives trading desk and will have the following job responsibilities:
  • Monitor global interest rate, equity index and foreign exchange markets, including the related option markets
  • Identify potential market opportunities and recommend appropriate trading strategies to senior traders
  • Implement trades, both for hedging and proprietary trades, under the supervision and guidance of senior traders
  • Generate daily risk reports which identify the subsidiary's market risk
  • Produce end of day profit/loss reports that contain the subsidiary's profitability

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Extremely strong quantitative and analytical aptitude
  • Demonstrated understanding of economic theory
  • An undergraduate degree from a highly competitive program
  • Progress towards an MBA and/or CFA
  • A clear passion for capital markets
