PEAK6 Advisors is currently seeking an experienced convertible bond trader to join our Chicago-based hedge fund team.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between Portfolio Manager and brokers
  • Assist PM by:
    o Interacting with Operations, Compliance, Marketing and other divisions within the fund
    o Building models to search for and analyze trade ideas
    o Monitoring positions/broker flows
  • Engage in daily trading of convertible bonds and other parts of the corporate capital structure
  • Execute and research trading opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong buy & sell side relationships
  • Monitor and manage risk
Job Requirements:

  • Experience trading convertible bonds with a leading financial institution
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience with options
  • Must have credit analysis experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of pricing, hedging and managing convertible bonds
  • Ability to effectively use technology, research and market intelligence in day-to-day trading
  • Highest ethical standards
  • Team oriented
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Previous experience working in a highly competitive and dynamic environment
  • The ability to work independently, self motivated, and proactive in achieving individual and team objectives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically & objectively
  • Must be entrepreneurial in nature
  • Developed quantitative skills including deep Excel knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
