Under general supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to generate trading profits via fixed income trading. Some guidance may be provided to perform varied and complex activities that require evaluation, originality and ingenuity in making moderately complex decisions. Regular contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify, or provide facts or information. Resolves questions and problems and refers highly complex issues to a higher level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Commits capital and executes orders, relates bids and offers within established limits for in-house inventories within assigned individual positioning guidelines. Has ability to commit to underwriting.
* Maintains inventory controls and is responsible for accuracy of trades and daily blotters
* Troubleshoots operational and administrative issues.
* May generate sales ideas and promotes new products through written sales memos and proactive phone networking and branch visits
* May provide marketing and trading support to Financial Advisors.
* May answer telephones for quotes, orders and information.
* May respond to inquiries from Financial Advisors about the department's investment philosophies, products and services.
* May disseminate timely marketing materials for fixed income products and services targeted at financial advisors and investors.
* Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:

* Company's working structure, policies, mission, and strategies.
* Fundamental trading strategies and market characteristics within assigned securities type or sector.
* Concepts, practices, and procedures of Fixed Income.
* Fundamental principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.
* Financial markets and products.

Skill in:

* Strong math and analytics sufficient for quantitative and analytical analysis.
* Strong marketing skills and sales ability.
* Identifying relationships, draw logical conclusions, and interpret results.
* Using technical/professional knowledge, interpersonal and sales skills to obtain customers' commitment to ideas, services, or products.
* Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets.

Ability to:

* Read, interpret, analyze and apply information from industry data.
* Make independent decisions and take risk based on multiple factors.
* Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with critical deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
* Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all organizational levels.
* Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.
* Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
* Project a positive, professional image both internal and with external business contacts.
* Convey information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Finance, Accounting or Business and a minimum of (3) three to (5) five years of experience in the Fixed Income area of the financial services industry.

* Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Licenses/Certifications:

* FINRA Series 7 License and the ability to obtain other FINRA Licenses (as required).
