Trader Support Analyst TT Fix / 1st or 3rd Shift; $70-90K

Prestigious Global Trading Firm, located in the Chicago Loop, is currently seeking a Trade Application Support Analyst with FIX and Trading Technologies experience (TT) preferred.
Responsibilities of an application support analyst are trader and trading application support (3rd party and proprietary), monitoring of production systems, ensuring system availability, and managing back end processes. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot and solve issues across different technologies. An understanding of electronic derivatives trading and exchange connectivity is an important part of the role.
The ASA will take ownership of an issue until it*s resolved. The ASA will solve complex problems that require both strong technical skills and business knowledge. The ability to effectively communicate details and provide consistent updates is also necessary. The ASA will work with traders, back-office, exchanges, and developers to investigate and solve system issues and participate in business analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, troubleshoot, and respond to emergency situations and outages that impact the production trading environment
- Take ownership of technical issues managing them through to resolution - including post mortem for improvement ideas.
- Provide desktop support to staff in our Chicago and NY offices
- Manage work orders including incident resolution process and client communications
- Work collaboratively with traders and other IT staff to implement new tools and strategies
- Perform active monitoring and respond to alerts within technology environment; escalate issues to appropriate IT staff if necessary
- Ensure customers contacts are kept updated on ongoing issues in line with severity of problem
- Provide an effective handover at the end of a shift
- Adhere to policies and procedures
- Hardware and account setup
- Deploy and manage applications
- Participate in change control procedures
- Create/maintain environment and systems documentation
- Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to achieve firm goals
- Provide support off-hours and remotely when needed

Experience
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience supporting proprietary and third party trading applications is required
- Demonstrated ability configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting software is required
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience with Windows desktop administration is required
- Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, including formulas, macros, and real-time feeds
- Experience supporting XTrader from Trading Technologies is preferred
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and network connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience with Linux client (ex. fedora) and file utilities (less, diff, grep, tail) is preferred
- Experience with FIX log analysis is preferred
- Experience with Perl, shell scripting, or another programming language is preferred
- Hardware set ups, moves, and replacement

- Understanding of futures trading industry
- Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, including formulas, macros, and real-time feeds

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent documentation and knowledge management skills
