LOCATION: HOUSTON, TX

ANNUAL SALARY 75-95,000K PLUS BONUS

Under the direction of the Energy Commercial Manager, the incumbent exercises sole discretion in daily and monthly purchase, sale decisions and participates in the development and execution of seasonal, annual and long term contract strategy including acting independently to negotiate individual purchase and sale contracts for the daily and monthly deals. The position is responsible for trading natural gas in the market on a daily basis in order balance supply and demand, optimize supply and transportation, minimize price risk and ensure delivery of low cost, reliable fuel to three sites in United States.

Critical Responsibilities:

Regular communication with the Energy Supply Chain Team and the Energy groups in the sites to determine natural gas requirements due to variable operating rates, power sales and maintenance or emergency shutdowns.

Record the deals in the system of record (Allegro) and file regulatory reports with state and federal governmental entities such as the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Daily communication with the plant sites and Supply Chain Planner to establish both long and short term demand and to coordinate natural gas supplies with plant maintenance activities.

Manage short term supply and daily balancing for sites which includes executing spot purchase or sale transactions and/or optimizing Term and Spot supply arrangements to ensure lowest possible natural gas costs and to minimize price risk to company.

Regular communication with suppliers, consultants, traders, and various other sources of market intelligence. Daily review of several market reports, weather forecasts, and trader webcams to increase market understanding.

Work with the Commercial Manager on the negotiation of Gas NAESB Master Agreements for Supply and Sale of Natural Gas in conjunction with and subject to the approval Legal and Treasury as required.

Data entry of all Natural Gas Counterparty and Pipeline Contracts and all purchase and sale transactions into the Allegro system and work closely with Accounting to ensure that all activity is adequately captured in the accounting system.

Work with the Natural Gas Schedulers to make sure all deal information is known in order to make the nominations and place the transactions in Allegro

Troubleshooting closing issues in Allegro in conjunction with Schedulers, Volume Analyst and Invoice Specialist.

Maintain and build mutually beneficial relationships with natural gas, and transportation suppliers.

This role is responsible to build internal and external relationships with Suppliers, service providers and governmental entities.

This role is responsible to negotiate and transact daily deals and monthly base load purchases.

Requires Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain or related discipline

Required professional working experience in the Natural Gas and/or Energy related industry, and/or Supply Chain experience.

(U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).

This position does not offer Relocation.
