Primary responsibility as a product controller will be to produce risk and P&L for the relevant trading desk, substantiate these numbers and explain them to both traders and controlling manager

4-6yrs exp

Trade modeling, Trade support, performance of key reconciliations, P&L and risk production and review and validation of P&L, balance sheet substantiation.

To be able to discharge these responsibilities effectively requires an in depth knowledge of the products traded, a detailed understanding of regulatory requirements, accounting standards and valuation issues.

You will be preparing sensitivity analysis, new deal P&L reviews and trade specific valuation/attribution analysis.

As Product Controller, you will substantiate the risk for Risk Management purposes and produce and substantiate a risk based Profit & Loss (PL) report utilizing the Greeks (Delta, Gamma, Theta, etc.) for attribution purposes.

Additionally responsibilities will include Independent Price Verification, trade level execution verification (MCC), and PL commentary.

Product controllers are often the key contacts for a variety of departments (e.g. IT, Risk Management) hence you will have interaction across all areas of the bank.

The product controllers also assist the financial controllers in reconciling the general ledger at month end.
