Description

Koch Fertilizer, LLC and its subsidiaries own and invest in nitrogen fertilizer production and storage capacity in North America, Europe, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The company's fertilizer interests manufacture, market and distribute more than 8 million metric tons of nitrogen products annually. Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba which produces primarily anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminaling assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom.

Koch Fertilizer LLC is seeking a Natural Gas Scheduler / Jr. Trader to join the Wichita team. This will be an excellent role to get exposure to the trading/logistics side of a liquid energy market, as well as providing the opportunity to participate in building a new business from the ground floor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the scheduling of natural gas for Joint Marketing Agreement (JMA) plants as well as some monthly and daily purchasing.

Included in this activity would be:

Perform scheduling function as necessary to assure proper flow of purchased gas

Managing positions for JMA plants and develop strategies to optimize cost

Managing daily product and risk position for the JMA positions

Determine and execute necessary hedges to balance JMA’s overall position

Assist in analyzing storage positions and provide recommendations to maximize value of storage

Maximize and optimize transportation and storage agreements

Ensure NAESB’s (master gas contracts) are in place with key suppliers

Develop relationships with gas suppliers and transportation suppliers

Maintain natural gas scorecards and distribute to the team
Requirements
Candidate must be willing and able to be at his/her desk by 7:00 a.m.

Highly motivated / self-starter - willing to put in the extra time and effort

Able to communicate clearly with internal and external parties

Detail oriented

Team player

Willing to challenge and be challenged

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Finance

Preferred

Commodity trading or sales experience

Market analysis experience
