Our Commodity Exchange Group is seeking a take-charge professional to develop relationships throughout the “perishable supply system" to increase revenue through alternative channel transactions by selling commodity proteins. This trader will be responsible for acquiring and developing new customers and achieving sales and gross profit budget goals; and managing all aspects of the business relationship between the company and its customers.

Specific responsibilities include:

* Maintains existing customers and maximizes profitable sales. Presents sales presentations to customers on an agreed-upon and consistent basis.
* Expands customer base to a “Nationwide Network" and develops new business. Identifies prospective customers by using business directories, follows leads from existing clients, participates in organizations and clubs, and attends trade shows and conferences.
* Establishes relationships with vendors that need “liquidation" placements.
* Evaluates market trends for effective timing of position purchases and researches customer business needs. Recommends products to customers based on business needs and goals.
* Answers customers’ questions about products, prices, availability and product uses.
* Stays informed of market conditions, product innovations and competitors’ products, prices and sales.
* Follows credit line limitations and/or guidelines.
* Management of associated operating costs.
* Communicates and collects accounts receivable as necessary, working with the accounting department and client.
* Responsible for support functions (logistics, storage, admin, etc.) based on customers’ needs.
* Achieving Sales Revenue and Gross Margin plans.
* Performs special projects or assignments as directed by the VP of Supply Chain.

* Minimum of five years procurement and/or commissioned sales experience with commodity proteins preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree in business/sales or equivalent preferred.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as customer service and presentation abilities.
* Strong problem solving abilities and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
* Very strong computer literacy with functional knowledge of Office 2007 products.
* Travel requirements are five to ten percent.
