As a Quantitative Strategist / Data Analyst for KS&T you will be part of a global derivatives business focused on quantitative options trading. In this role you will develop and evaluate trading opportunities in energy markets using statistical methods, times series and multidimensional data analysis tools and creative application of quantitative methods against an extensive data warehouse of historical energy commodity price and volatility history. You will be in a fluid environment where rapid response if often required and the ability to interact with traders, analysts and customers will be required.

Responsibilities include:

Solid understanding of energy market derivatives and options pricing

Expertise in statistical methods including time series analysis and multidimensional data analysis methods

Expert level capability Excel and/or Matlab

Ability to program in Matlab, VBA, and/or C# is a plus

At least one year of experience as a quantitative analyst in a commodity or financial business

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


The candidatefor this role will have a solid understanding of energy commodity market and derivatives pricing theory, statistical data analysis methods and industry experience applying quantitative methods to market data to qualify and evaluate trading opportunities.

Preferences include the following:

Data analysis experience in derivatives trading business

Experience applying software tools or writing software to analyze historical market data to evaluate trading opportunities

Requires masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative finance or related field with considerable exposure to software development

Prefer PhD level background in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Econometrics or related field
