Junior Trader

Apply for Job:

Description

Company Profile:
Genesis Investment Partners is a privately held investment management fund based in Stamford, Connecticut. Our traders focus on short term, low risk, high frequency trading of domestic equities. All trade executions are routed electronically from the trading desk to both the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ stock markets via a proprietary network designed to provide our traders with a competitive edge.

Position: Junior Trader
All traders joining the firm must complete a rigorous, three-month training curriculum. Our training program focuses on three major topics: an introduction to the financial markets, trading venues and electronic execution of trades, and effective management of investment risk.

At the completion of the training program, traders who have passed will immediately be allocated a portion of the firm’s capital with which to trade. This capital allocation is reviewed on a weekly basis. Performance based increases in capital allocations are made if a trader exhibits consistent profitability and growth.

Junior Traders typically work from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

Compensation:
Genesis traders are compensated with a percent of their profitability each month. Successful Junior Traders are typically promoted to the position of Senior Trader twelve months after finishing the training program. Senior Traders typically earn $100,000 to $200,000 per year, though seasoned traders earn significantly more.
