Job Description
Institutional Securities Operations is looking to fill a key officer level role to support its growing Equity Swap business expansion. The individual will to take day-to-day ownership and deliver front-to-back solutions to the Swaps business throughout the full trade lifecycle: Sales, Trading, Risk Management, Prime Brokerage, Operations and Finance. The remit is local and will involve direct management of various existing teams.

Specifically this will include:

* The person will build effective relationships with the Traders, Salespeople and Prime Brokerage units the team supports, along with support functions / teams (e.g. Data Quality, Swaps Allocation System (SAS) team, Financial Controllers, Technology, Custodians etc) as well as Senior Management within Equity Business Line Services (EBLS) and Multi Asset Class Solutions (MACS)
* Undertake current state assessment in order to identify operational issues that pose immediate obstacles to current business volumes, and future anticipated business growth
* Perform business analysis of operational issues in order to prepare proposals to materialize scalability, flexibility, and efficiency
* Manage preparation of business requirements that encompasses both tactical and strategic solutions
* Define scope, timelines, and phases that are aligned to short-term business needs, and long-term business goals
* Coordinate and act as a regional head to ensure that global initiatives are aligned to regional business needs, and also ensure that regional business needs are well represented in the global arena
* Work closely with global owners of SAS, various Rennovation/6-Sigma initiatives and Global Swaps to maintain global consistency to approach
* Interact with BU to ensure that initiatives and projects are endorsed in order to cover full “front-to-back” solutions
* Partner with IT to ensure that resources are aligned to projects, as well as ensuring that business requirements are conveyed accurately in order to guarantee intended deliverables
* Team with Line Operations Team to ensure that operational needs are escalated in order to deliver solutions in a timely manner, be it tactical or strategic, or both
* Define support structures
* Preparation of current state updates package to senior managements, global colleagues, BU, and Line Team
* Assume direct management of the DQ and SAS team members, currently six in NY (with potential to increase)

Requirements

Required Skills

* Strong understanding of the Swaps business, preferably from the broker-dealer perspective
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams within a matrix reporting environment
* Able to be a senior representative to the Business Units to determine and set priorities
* Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
* Excellent presentation and written communication skills
* Strong product knowledge and analytical skills are a must
* Hands-on approach, willingness to get into the detail
